I had a bit of a lie in until 8am and then decided to wash my handknit socks. I’m still wearing them around the house at the moment but it might not be for much longer.
I did a bit of gardening. I don’t have much compost but I have lots of dahlia tubers that have been overwintering in my polytunnel (I still haven’t taken it down and now I’m quite glad I kept it up!). I couldn’t pot them on without the compost so I took the plunge and just put them straight in the raised bed. If they don’t grow, it’s not the end of the world. I also sowed some rocket, spinach and basil in the polytunnel with the last bit of compost I had. Hopefully, we can grow some salad greens.
After lunch, I went upstairs and sat on the bed to knit on my Elton cardigan and catch up on a few knitting podcasts. It wasn’t long before Faye came into the room in tears. I think it was all getting a bit much and she wanted so much to see my mum (far away in Cornwall). We decided we needed to get out of our four walls. Faye has not left the house/garden in 24 days so I thought it was time to have a little walk.
We haven’t been using our daily government exercise outing because we have plenty of garden to get exercise. She felt much better after a quick 20 minute walk. We went down to the canal (about 5 minutes from the house) but decided to turn round where it narrowed as we could see lots of people up ahead. It was lovely to see swans, ducks and moorhens.
In the evening, we started series 2 of ‘Lost in Space’. We are really enjoying it. It’s good family viewing, if a little far-fetched. Later, Rob and I started series 2 of ‘Liar’ that has been playing on ITV lately. We usually wait for the entire series of something to be recorded before we watch it, so we can watch on consecutive nights. It feels like we’re watching loads of TV at the moment, but it’s a good distraction.
